Metrixware announces Cobos 3.3 availability

Nanterre, April 17th 2014. Metrixware announces the immediate availability of Cobos 3.3, its COBOL development workbench for Eclipse.

Eclipse distributions support

Cobos has been upgrated and qualified so that the major eclipse distributions are supported (either in 32 or 64 bits). Of course, Metrixware takes care of the eclipse versions deployed in production by its clients, especially eclipse Indigo.

OpenCOBOL: extensions to several dialects

All the Cobos features are working with microfocus programs (such as Auto-completion, Open Declaration, Unfold, Check syntax, Revision mode, etc…) thanks to the enhancement of the dialect and the preprocessing capabilities.

Among many improvements and fixes, Cobos adds support for z/OS™ Enterprise COBOL EXEC CICS WEB statement in the “mvs” dialect.

Mainframe capabilities enhancement

Mainframe sources can be compared directly from Z/Navigator. ISPF special characters are detected and filtered during the Edit mode. In case of conflict during save, you can merge the versions easily in the Compare Editor.
